Vikram Iyengar

about the work of Vikram Iyengar – dancer, choreographer, theatre director, arts researcher, writer, manager and curator

Author: Vikram Iyengar

Vikram Iyengar is a dancer, choreographer, theatre director; performing arts researcher, writer and curator; and arts manager based in Calcutta, India. He is co-founder and Artistic Director of Ranan Performance Collective and initiator and founder of The Pickle Factory project - a venue for dance and movement practice and discourse. He works in India and internationally. Vikram’s range of production work in India and abroad has brought together dancers and actors, and spans choreography for stage and film, dance and theatre explorations, and performance collaborations. A special focus has continuously explored how the Indian dance form of kathak can engage in a dialogue rather than be a monologue, creating fresh challenges within, and in relation to, the form.
