January 2016: Ranan’s Shunya Se tours to Lebanon sponsored by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations with performances in Jounieh, Tripoli and Beirut.
February 2016: Across, not Over makes an international debut at the [Trans]Asia Portraits, Vienna presented by Impulse Tanz.
March 2016: Playing a pigeon in Diversions / Just Joking written and directed by Vinay Sharma and produced by Padatik, Calcutta.
April 2016: Ranan marks Shakespeare’s 450th death anniversary with a revival of the dance and theatre piece, Crossings: exploring the facets of Lady Macbeth.
May 2016: A speaker at the Navadisha conference, Birmingham organised by Sampad as a fringe event of the Birmingham International Dance Festival.
May 2016: Four performances of Across, not Over at the Southbank Centre, London as part of the Alchemy Festival.
July 2016: Performances of Made in Bangladesh in Warsaw, Poland and Bolzano, Italy.
August 2016: Across, not Over at the JOMBA! Contemporary Dance Festival, Durban, South Africa.
September 2016: Imagining Improvisation, a ten-day residency exploring the meeting of western improvisational techniques and kathak dance. Led by Anika Bendel and Vikram Iyengar with 6 kathak dancers from Ranan, the project was supported by the Goethe Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata, and culminated in a public sharing.
October 2016: Delegate to the IGNITE Festival of Contemporary Dance, Delhi presented by GATI Dance Forum.
November 2016: Part of the Indian cast for L’étranger au paradis indien choreographed by David Rolland, Padmini Chettur and Preethi Athreya. Performances in Le Mans and Nantes, France.
